National Science Foundation Award for Professor Alina Marian

The National Science Foundation has awarded a three year grant to Professor Alina Marian to fund her research as PI on the project “Moduli Theory of Sheaves Over Low-Dimensional Varieties”, starting in September 2016. The award is from the Division of Mathematical Sciences, and is a continuation of previous NSF support for Professor Marian’s research.

National Science Foundation Award for Professor Christopher Beasley

The National Science Foundation has awarded a three year grant to Professor Christopher Beasley to fund his research as PI on the project “Gauge Fields, Geometry, and Strings”, starting in September 2016. The award is from the Division of Physics (PHY) under the program Elementary Particle Physics – Theory, and it includes RA funding for one graduate student each year.

Automating Solutions to Side-Channel Attacks

Side-channel attacks are an emerging threat to embedded systems. As a result, mathematics professor Aidong (Adam) Ding and colleagues are creating a tool that automatically corrects for side-channel weaknesses.

Army Research Office award for Professor Gabor Lippner

The Army Research Office has awarded a three year Grant to Professor Gabor Lippner to fund his research as a co-PI on the project “Latent geometry of random simplicial complexes”, starting in July 2016. Professor Lippner’s collaborators on the project are Professor Dima Krioukov (PI, Physics and Network Science) and Research Scientist Maksim Kitsak (co-PI, Physics).
