About Reena John
Reena John is a Master’s Student in the Environmental Science & Policy Program. She received her BS in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Catonsville, MD. Reena’s professional career has been focused on the conservation of marine life and the methods by which endangered species can be rehabilitated. She has volunteered with Baltimore County to clean up Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and has also volunteered with the Baltimore National Aquarium for sea turtle husbandry. These experiences have brought her to Northeastern in order to pursue marine biology. Her main area of research interest is to study mesophotic coral ecosystems and their potential to aid in shallow reef coral restoration from global warming-induced bleaching.
