About Mark Grabiner
Cells are magnificent constructions. Small yet incredibly complex. Throughout my research and teaching career, I have been focused on how living things function at the level of cells. I want to know how specialized cells, like those of the nervous system and immune system, are able to carry out functions that lead to the complex behaviors of their multicellular lifeforms. I’m also interested in the processes that allow cells to escape their original purpose and constraints and cause cancer. My teaching career has been focused on sharing my passion for living things and the tools and techniques we use to study them. Whether your goals are to become a biologist or just gain an appreciation for how your body works, I’m excited to help you on your journey.
