Kelsie Lopez is a PhD student in the Plasticity in Neurodevelopment Lab with Dr. Laurel Gabard-Durnam in the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health. Lopez studies the effects of early adverse life events on later language outcomes by measuring both behavior and sensitive period timing in the brain using EEG methodology. In addition, she investigates the role of the early home musical environment on behavioral and cognitive outcomes, as well as study how we can leverage music as a tool for resiliency and stress regulation when the early home environment is adverse.
