About Kelsie Lopez

I am a PhD student in the Plasticity in Neurodevelopment Lab with Dr. Laurel Gabard-Durnam in the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health. I study the effects of early adverse life events on later language outcomes by measuring both behavior and sensitive period timing in the brain using EEG methodology. In addition, I investigate the role of the early home musical environment on behavioral and cognitive outcomes, as well as study how we can leverage music as a tool for resiliency and stress regulation when the early home environment is adverse.
