About John Alessi

John is a Master’s Student in the Environmental Science & Policy Program interested in climate resiliency, sustainable urban planning, and renewable energy transitions. He is currently on coop at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation as a Sustainable Mobility Coordinator where he is helping expand access to walking, biking, public transit, and other sustainable modes of transportation in the Commonwealth. In addition to his current role, he has also worked at the Vermont Department of Public Service as a Renewable Energy Research Intern, the Vermont Legislative Research Service as a Student Researcher, and Environment America as an Energy Program Intern. Before starting his coursework at Northeastern he lived and worked in France as an English Language Assistant. John is also an alumnus of the University of Vermont ’17 and hails from Hingham, MA. Aside from school and work you can find him doing anything outdoors: hiking, trail running, skiing, biking, canoeing, and gardening.
