About Emma Margolis

Emma is a PhD student in Dr. Laurel Gabard-Durnam’s Plasticity in Neurodevelopment Lab here at Northeastern. Her research focuses on the ways in which caregivers can shape infant brain development beginning in the prenatal period including via exposures, cultural contexts, and caregiving practices. She uses electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) neuroimaging techniques to answer these questions and is the student lead on the first infant MRI project at Northeastern.
