About Caitlin Vinton

As of January 2023, I am a first-year graduate student at Northeastern University pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy. I started fulfilling M.S. requirements through Northeastern’s PlusOne Program, which is an accelerated Master’s program for undergraduates. In December 2022, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Political Science (Combined) with a Theatre Minor.

I have experience in journal/newspaper writing and (copy)editing, animal care and husbandry, diplomacy, wetland permitting, urban and regional planning, and conducting professional research. My passions include global climate change, environmental justice issues, species and resource conservation, and taking steps to create a more sustainable world.

Having dedicated so much time to the humanities aspect of environmental issues, I am excited to get some hands-on experience in a laboratory setting for the first time! As an intern in the Helmuth Lab, I am aiding with an existing project regarding thermal stress and marine microalgae.

In my free time, I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, watching Japanese anime, singing, writing, and doing voice impressions.
