About Mark Aparece
Dr. Mark Aparece received both his B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He taught organic chemistry and chemistry for nursing students at Loyola University Chicago as a visiting lecturer before moving to Massachusetts in 2015 to pursue a Ph.D. at Boston College with Prof. James Morken. His research in the Morken lab focused on developing transformations of boronic esters centered on the palladium-catalyzed 1,2-metallate shift mechanism. In the summer of 2020, Dr. Aparece joined the faculty at Northeastern University as an assistant teaching professor of chemistry.
