It has long been the language of science and technology, and provides a rich source of methods for analyzing and solving problems encountered in the physical world. Today, mathematics is essential in virtually all fields of human endeavor, including business, the arts, and the social sciences.

BS or BA in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Northeastern University is dedicated to providing its majors with the highest level of education and training in a setting that maintains a positive outlook on learning, and encourages individual growth.

Combined Majors

It is possible to combine Mathematics with another major by pursuing a combined major.

BS/MS PlusOne Program

If you are a motivated and academically outstanding student, you can begin earning a Master’s degree in Applied Math beginning in your junior or senior year while completing your Bachelor's degree in Math.

Math Minor

A math minor can be combined with any other major at Northeastern.
