Applied Mathematics and Statistics
Applied mathematics is the application of mathematical methods to other fields such as physics, biology, engineering, computer science, medicine, finance, business, and social science. The research applications of our applied mathematics faculty at Northeastern span a wide range of areas, including machine learning, topological data analysis, network science, information theory, optimization, and mathematical biology.
