Sam joined the COS as Director of Finance and Operations at the start of 2020, a role that included financial planning, data and analytics, space planning, and operations within the Dean’s Office.

With an M.B.A. from George Washington University School of Business, Sam joined the COS with a decade of experience in higher education and nonprofit management, including six years of experience at R1 research universities. He additionally worked as a higher education consultant, with several public and private universities on operational strategy and implementation projects. In these positions, Sam gained experience leading or managing high-impact process improvement efforts, capital projects, renovations, and strategic planning.

As Associate Dean of Administration and Finance, Sam is part of the Dean’s leadership team. Sam leads a team responsible for College financial planning and stewardship, human resources, grants administration, space, and operations, working closely with the Dean, other Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Provost’s Office.
