Dr. Miao’s research focuses on environmental biotechnology for groundwater remediation, wastewater treatment, and public and ecological health. The interdisciplinary research in Miao Lab applies systems biology through biphasic top-down (integrated meta-omics and machine learning) and bottom-up (individual microbe-based experiment and simulation) ways, to delineate the principles and interactions of microbial ecology and evolution, and conduct validation in multi-scale tests.
