About Rick Duclos
My professional commitment has been to the utilization of synthetic chemistry and biochemistry to advance healthcare. My training and experience are in synthetic organic chemistry, spectroscopy, analytical chemistry, protein biochemistry, and radiosynthesis. My early research was in the areas of nitrogen heterocycles, furan antibacterials, fluorescent-labeled biomolecules, antineoplastic ether lipids, heart-disease-related lipid and protein research, endocannabinoid lipid and protein research, and recently, novel peptide-lipid and related conjugates for therapeutic peptides and proteins. I have taught undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry, graduate biochemistry, and graduate radiochemistry. I have 41 research publications, most involving the syntheses of glycerolipids or sphingolipids. My publication record has resulted in the opportunities to review manuscripts and grants.
