Jahson is a broadly trained marine biologist and environmental scientist with 10+ years of academic and industry experience in biodiversity conservation, improving coastal resilience and spatial planning. He attained his PhD in 2018 at the University of the West Indies (Trinidad and Tobago) and today works toward developing socially just and equitable coastal management outcomes. His current work explores the interactions between cultural values, environmental values and adaptation capacity of communities vulnerable to sea level rise and coastal flooding, and how this information can be used to improve decision making leading to more equitable outcomes.
