Alline Pacheco

  • Part-Time Lecturer

Alline is a scientist with over a decade of experience spanning academia and biotechnology, specializing in genome engineering, cell biology, and microbiology. She has advanced cutting-edge gene editing technologies at leading companies including Intellia Therapeutics, Verve Therapeutics, and more recently, as Associate Director of Discovery at Kano Therapeutics. Her academic research centered on host–microbe and host–pathogen interactions, where she applied CRISPR screens, transcriptomics, and metabolomics during her postdoctoral work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and UC Davis. Alline earned her PhD from UT Southwestern, where she investigated bacterial pathogenesis, and her graduate research resulted in publications in high-profile journals such as Nature and Cell. She also holds an MS in Genetics & Molecular Biology and a BS from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in her native Brazil. Dedicated to mentoring and training the next generation of scientists, she is committed to preparing future leaders in the life sciences.
