Dr. Gail S. Begley is a Teaching Professor in Biology, Director of Undergraduate Studies in Biology, and Co-chair of the University Service-Learning Advisory Board. Dr. Begley earned a PhD in Cell & Molecular Biology at Boston University and was a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and at Harvard Medical School. Before taking a faculty position at Northeastern, she was a Staff Scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. Dr. Begley has been recognized with the Excellence in Teaching award at Northeastern University and been named a Biology Scholar by the American Society for Microbiology. In addition to her biological research, Dr. Begley has written on curriculum reform and implementing Service-Learning in the Biology classroom.
