Mini Conferences and Workshops

Mini Conferences and Workshops connect the Bridge to Calculus community with educators, researchers, and industry professionals to strengthen pathways for Boston students.

Bridge to Calculus (BtC) hosts Mini Conferences and Workshops to bring together the people shaping mathematics education.

These gatherings create space for:

  • Meaningful collaboration between Boston Public Schools educators and Northeastern University faculty
  • Knowledge-sharing between classrooms and industry
  • Expanding access to high-quality mathematics learning

What begins with calculus opens doors to new ideas. Our workshops introduce fresh perspectives across math and its applications, sparking interdisciplinary discovery and collaboration.

Together, we build new pathways through mathematics.

Why we host these events

Foster Collaboration

Encourage connection between BtC students, BPS teachers, Northeastern mathematics departments, and industry leaders.

Network with Industry Experts

Create opportunities for educators to engage with professionals shaping the future of mathematics and its applications.

Expand our Impact

What our community says

The AI in math workshop gave us a real look at how AI is being used in both academia and industry, and more importantly, how we as teachers can actually use it for our own work and in the classroom with students. The best practices were straightforward and easy to apply. I’d recommend this to every math teacher in BPS.

– High School Mathematics Teacher, Boston Public School

I came in knowing nothing about Python and left feeling like I could actually use it. The workshop covered everything from the basics to data visualization and statistical analysis, and the pace made it easy to follow along without feeling lost. The environment was great too, well organized and welcoming. I’d definitely come back for another one.

– BPS Student, Grade 11, Brighton High School

Through its mini workshops and conferences, Bridge to Calculus encourages students to dream big, believe in their abilities, and achieve their goals. These programs help students build a strong foundation in math and science, skills that are essential for success in college and STEM careers. It’s inspiring to see students engage with these opportunities and take meaningful steps toward their future.
