Sarah Stanton

  • Assistant Dean, Space Planning, Operations and Safety

Sarah Stanton has been part of the College of Science since 2021 and now oversees academic, research, and clinical space, operations, and safety across both the College of Science and the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. Together these colleges represent more than 600 faculty, 530 staff, and 262,000 square feet of research space spanning Northeastern’s Boston campus and its Global Campus Network sites in Burlington, Seattle, Portland, Toronto, Oakland, Charlotte, and Miami. She leads a team responsible for space planning and project management, environmental health and safety, and administrative operations for both colleges’ central offices, and serves as the lead representative for COS and Bouvé on space and safety matters across the university.

Sarah previously served as Director of Space Planning & Operations for the College of Science, guiding renovation and operations strategy for the College’s research, teaching, and administrative facilities. Before Northeastern, she spent seven years in the Office of the Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Virginia, where she managed major capital projects including the $180 million renovation of the Chemistry Building and Gilmer Hall.

Sarah holds a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval Studies from Vassar College.
