Marcella Heineke received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. She worked in a variety of ecology labs across the country before settling into the Marine and Environmental Sciences PhD Program at Northeastern. Her dissertation work broadly covers how foundation species respond to environmental gradients under current and future climate conditions.
