Jocelyn Haversat

  • Associate Professor and Director of Biotechnology

Dr. Jocelyn Haversat is an associate teaching professor and director of the MS in Biotechnology program at Northeastern University. She received her PhD in Biology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, where she studied chromosome dynamics during meiotic prophase. Her scientific interests and research experience span a range of topics, including chromosomal instability, cell signaling, DNA damage and repair, and cell and molecular events associated with meiotic and mitotic nondisjunction.

While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Haversat developed a passion for teaching, and she finds joy in creating welcoming and inclusive learning spaces, centered on the whole student. She enjoys challenging her students intellectually through culturally inclusive instruction, structured peer-to-peer interactions, and caring and supportive direction.
