Hai-Ping Cheng received the PhD in Physics from Northwestern University. Dr. Cheng is a theorist who studies electronic and quantum phenomena at the nanoscale using computational approaches and the effects of nanoscale confinement on a variety of quantum materials, yielding insights critical for quantum science and technology. She has also worked on the Laser Interferometer Gravity Observatory (LIGO) project, a large collaborative effort to detect gravity waves.
