My primary interest in is leveraging cognitive science research on intuitive thinking to explore how students understand and care for natural ecosystems. My dissertation work explored how undergraduate student’s bias to focus on humans (also known as anthropocentric thinking) can both help and hinder learning about biology. My current research also focuses on anthropocentric thinking as related to environmental care and climate action.
