Measurement induced quantum phenomena
Quantum measurements are often regarded as destructive interventions on a system, but does this principle still apply in systems with many degrees of freedom? In this talk, I will show that continuous monitoring of a many-body system can, in fact, drive a quantum information phase transition. Building on this observation, I will demonstrate how actively performing measurements can reveal new quantum phenomena that are otherwise difficult to access using conventional approaches.
