EAGER: Erbium-Doped Yttrium Iron Garnets for Efficient Quantum Transduction

This project aims to develop thin films of erbium-doped yttrium iron garnets and experimentally demonstrate efficient microwave photon-to-optical photon conversion. If successful, this project will lead to a new material for efficient quantum transduction. Such transduction materials can be used to entangle distant superconducting qubits and link superconducting quantum systems to other quantum computing platforms.
