Sophia Ly is a Master’s student in the Environmental Science and Policy Program. She received her BS in Environmental Science with a concentration in Conservation from Northeastern University. Sophia’s experience working with Dr. Helmuth’s lab, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Indigo Ag, the Conservation Law Foundation, and the AmeriCorps – Mile High Youth Corps has gained her invaluable experience in bridging the sciences with policy and the general public. Through the Master’s program, Sophia is focused on honing in on her skills in analyzing scientific data and applying that knowledge to the policy arena. She is interested in a career that sits in this intersection of science and policy and hopes to contribute to the work of a scientifically-driven society.
