Amber Watson will take care of all course registration needs for our NUin students. Students do not need to register themselves for spring courses. Students will be automatically registered for the standard second semester set of courses by major, and then their academic advisor will make personalized changes to their schedule based on their individual credits (i.e. AP,IB, or Transfer Credit).
Each department provides a set list of courses that are required for the major. These courses are specially selected to provide the proper foundation for more advanced level coursework in the major. If you are able to choose an elective, Amber Watson will contact you.
Registration for NUin students will begin in Mid-November and will continue through the end of the semester. Your schedule will be fully finalized at orientation in January.
If you intend on changing your major, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so we can help you plan for your spring semester. Please put “NUin Changeof Major” in the subject line.
If a student fails a course during the fall semester, an academic advisor will be able to help get you into the appropriate courses for the spring term. Please email email@example.com to let us know as soon as possible.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in order for credit to transfer back to Northeastern. Courses earning a C- or lower will not be transferred. If a student anticipates a grade below a C in a course they are taking abroad, please contact Amber Watson so proper adjustments can be made to your spring schedule.
Students are allowed to use up to 32 credits of AP credit towards their degree requirements. If you have earned more than 32 credits, your academic advisor can help you decide which credits would be the most beneficial for you to use. AP credit equivalencies can be found here on the Northeastern University Admissions website.
A link to your degree audit can be found on the your myNEU Self Service tab page.
Your academic advisor will help you plan for future semesters. There will be time to speak with your advisor at orientation when you arrive on campus. You will also be able to make an appointment with your advisor at any time throughout the semester thereafter. We encourage all COS students to meet with their advisor regularly throughout their undergraduate experience.
Please contact the Associate Director of Academic Advising, Amber Watson, with any further questions. Please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Amber Watson will be emailing students on mid-October with initial registration information. Once your schedule is finalized, you will receive a confirmation email from your advisor indicating that your scheduling changes have been completed.
