Congratulations to Prof. Rebecca Shansky and her graduate student Tina Gruene, whose image was featured on the cover of the August 2015 print issue of Biological Psychiatry. The article, Sex-Specific Neuroanatomical Correlates of Fear Expression in Prefrontal-Amygdala Circuits, is the culmination of two years of research in Prof. Shansky’s lab, and focuses mainly on a common type of learned fear behavior known as “freezing,” and how it differs between males and females.
