Anna Kosovicheva

Psychology postdoctoral research associate receives Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award

Congratulations to postdoctoral researcher Anna Kosovicheva in receiving the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The fellowship is sponsored by Dr. Peter Bex, Kosovicheva’s faculty mentor at Northeastern, and David Hunter of Boston Children’s Hospital.

Kosovicheva will be doing research and training in translational vision science. Her fellowship project will examine methods for both evaluating eye movement, and binocular visual deficits in individuals who have strabismus (eye movement). She will also examine how these deficits may be affected by an eye movement training procedure.

Kosovicheva, who currently works in the Translational Vision Lab at Northeastern, heard about this fellowship from other awardees at other institutes. “I’d say I’m most looking forward to collaborating with clinical researchers,” Kosovicheva said. “Gaining additional research experience studying patients who have visual impairments is something I’m excited to take part in.”
