Professor Lisa Feldman Barrett featured in the New York Times

Recently, Professor Lisa Feldman Barrett published an article in the New York Times entitled, “How to Become a Superager”. The article discusses her research using functional magnetic resonance imaging to scan and compare the brains of “superagers”, older people whose memory and attention is on par with healthy, active 25-year-olds, with other people of similar age.

Her research investigates what makes them tick, and she discusses how hard work, performing difficult tasks, such as physical exertion and strenuous mental effort contributes to superaging, offering the advice of taking up a challenging activity in the new year.

Check out her feature in the News@Northeastern here to read the article and learn more about her research.
