Professor Chuck Hillman Featured on the Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee

Recently, Prof. Chuck Hillman was featured in a committee member spotlight for the Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee. The Committee is composed of 17 nationally recognized experts in the fields of physical activity and health. They review current evidence and make recommendations that will help inform the next edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

In the interview, Prof. Hillman discusses his interest in physical activity, his recent research studying pre-adolescent children and collaborating with colleagues on works surrounding cognitive aging, and suggestions that would help Americans meet the Guidelines. He speaks of the importance of physical activity for overall health and suggests an important change the world could make to incorporate physical activity into their lifestyle would be to incentivize physical activity in the workplace and offers monetary incentives in health insurance.
