Prioritizing and Discarding Information

Do you think like a chemist? Do you sometimes discard information without even knowing it?

Associate professor of psychology John Coley recently published an article in the journal PLOSOne that indicates a disconnect between our conscious and subconscious decision-making.

In the study chemists were asked to scan data and determine which would be best for future drug-discovery efforts.

Coley and his colleagues write that the chemists made subconscious decisions regarding the data and the information available to them.
