On June 7, Fermilab, the largest particle physics laboratory in the US, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special symposium.
As part of this symposium, Professor Darien Wood from Northeastern University’s Department of Physics participated in a discussion panel examining the impact of hadron colliders.
Wood is a veteran of three such particle colliders: the SppbarS at CERN in the 1980s, the Tevatron at Fermilab in the 1990s and 2000s, and the ongoing research at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
The panel was led by Dr. Fabiola Gianotti, the Director General of CERN.
