Assistant Professor Jonathan Mboyo Esole was named a Next Einstein Forum (NEF) Fellow for 2017. A member of the Department of Mathematics studying String Theory, Esole received his PhD from Universiteit Leiden in 2006.

As an NEF Fellow, Esole is part of a select group of scientists and technologists working around the world who represent “Africa’s Einsteins”. The fellowship provides opportunities for career advancement in their various scientific fields – string theory,  nanomedicine, plant genetics, and so much more. Their dedication to their fields and research is an inspiration to the next generation of African innovators.
