MS Profile: Daniel Bassous

Daniel Bassous, MS in Biotechnology student, sits down with the College of Science Graduate Program staff to talk about what it’s like to work and study at Northeastern University.

Why did choose to attend Northeastern?

I chose Northeastern because of the program that I was accepted to and the location. Boston has the world’s biggest biotech hub, and Northeastern offers an amazing program to get you started in the industry, especially with the incorporation of the coop. Also Track & Field; I was given the opportunity to run track for the school here.

What is your favorite part about Northeastern?

The students, the community, the activities around campus.

What is your favorite part of Boston?

The city looks stunning beautiful when it’s sunny.

What is the best perk of being a Northeastern graduate student?

We probably have the best college campus in Boston.

What advice would you give to an incoming graduate student?

Make the most out of it, you’re still a student after all. Northeastern graduate school does a really good job at giving you a young college lifestyle while exposing you to the professional path at the same time.

What are your plans after degree completion?

After I complete my degree, I plan on getting a job in the biotech industry in Boston and living in the city.
