Physics graduate student receives prestigious accolades

Michelle Jamer, a graduate student in Don Heiman’s lab, has received two accolades related to her research.

Jamer is heading up the research on magnetic electronics in Heiman’s lab.

She has been named recipient of the 2015 Ludo Frevel Crystallography Scholarship Award, as well as the 2015 GMAG Outstanding Dissertation in Magnetism award.

The Frevel award comes from the International Centre for Diffraction Data and comes with $2,500.

The GMAG award is from the Topical group on Magnetism and its Applications of the American Physical Society. Jamer is awarded $500 plus $250 toward travel expenses to the APS March Meeting in San Antonio, TXwhere she will give an oral presentation.
