The Marine Science Center is excited to host Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all ages for programming at our Nahant campus and/or other local field locations. Scouts can choose from a variety of program options including exploring a local habitat such as the rocky shore or salt marsh, or exploring a particular theme such as waves & erosion or marine biodiversity & food webs.
Some program offerings will count towards work on an Oceanography Badge. Girl Scouts can also earn a fun patch for trips booked through the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
Fees are $16 per scout for a 2.5-3 hour program. There are several options to make a booking:
- Troops can contact our Outreach Program by contacting Emily Duwan at 781-581-7370 x373 or email@example.com, or by filling out a program registration form.
- Girl Scouts can also find program offerings with pre-determined dates in the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Ultimate Guide, and may reserve a spot for those programs by booking through the GSEM directly.
We are excited to help our youth to become knowledgeable about the local marine environment, aware of the kinds of research and facilities used to study them, and inspired to be stewards of our blue planet.
