There is an increasing demand for scientists with skills in computational data analytics. The Graduate Certificate in Bioinformatics offers professionals working in the research, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries the ability to employ bioinformatics algorithms and techniques to biological problems in their current practice. It also gives people looking to switch careers the data and genomic analysis skills needed to be more competitive in the biological and pharmaceutical industries.

The graduate certificate is comprised of four courses, three bioinformatics courses and one 3-4 credit elective, for a total of 15-16 semester hours (SH). Students can earn the certificate in as little as eight months.

Boston, California Bay Area, or Online – you choose

The Graduate Certificate in Bioinformatics is offered in multiple locations and formats. You can choose to take courses on our main campus in Boston, at our satellite campus in the California Bay Area, or online. Core courses are offered in the evenings to accommodate working professionals.

Boston:

100% Online:

We now offer an online program version of our program, allowing you to pursue our degree from your home base. We will work with you to find local employers for your co-op internship.

Seattle:

Northeastern’s West Coast campus for graduate studies is located in Seattle, Washington, a city synonymous with software development, Internet titans, information technology, and biotechnology. Students in the Seattle region have full access to Seattle campus facilities and services. Core bioinformatics courses are offered online with a limited number of electives available on-ground.
