Psychology students win at RISE!

Every year, Northeastern hosts its annual Research, Innovation, and Scholarship Expo, or RISE, an opportunity for students and faculty to showcase their research. As usual, a number of psychology students participated, and we are thrilled that this year, two of our students received awards!

Ronan Talty, a Behavioral Neuroscience major working in Prof. Rebecca Shansky’s Neuroanatomy and Behavior Lab, won the undergraduate poster award in physical and life sciences for his poster, “Estrogen-Dopamine Interactions During Extinction Learning in Female Rats.”

Additionally, Jin Xun Goh, a third-year graduate student working with Prof. Judy Hall in our department’s Personality/Social research area, won the graduate poster award in social sciences, business, and law, for his poster, “Gender-Stereotyping of Sexual Minorities at the Interpersonal Level.” Congratulations are also due to Jin’s three undergraduate research assistants, behavioral neuroscience major Lauren Coritt and psychology majors Amanda Falcon and Adriana Jodoin. This is the second year in a row that members of Prof. Hall’s Social Interaction Lab have received this honor; last year, the award went to graduate student Mollie Ruben.
